Book Excerpt from The Fall of the Codex
Since I’ve been hard at work getting the edits done on The Fall of the Codex, I thought I’d share a fun *unedited* book excerpt! There are SO MANY SUPERPOWERS in this book, y’all, which was so fun to write. This excerpt gives you a little taste of that — plus, you get to see my OG couple, Grady and Kayla, do their thing again. Which is always good, right?
(Spoiler alert: If you haven't read The Secret of the Codex yet, there are a few light spoilers here, but nothing that will ruin the story. Just wanted you to be aware. 😉)
Enjoy!
Thanksgiving Excerpt (The Prophecy of the Codex)
Did you know that The Prophecy of the Codex takes place over Thanksgiving?
So to celebrate the holiday, I thought I’d drop in an excerpt that references it!
Enjoy!
The Prophecy of the Codex Book Excerpt
Kayla and the rest of the Four, along with Na-um and Holun, met an hour later in the mess tent, early enough that the lunch crowd hadn’t shown up yet. Though there wouldn’t be much of a “crowd” anyway—staffing for the dig was light this late in the fall semester. Most had already gone home for Thanksgiving, which was only a few days away.
The Prophecy of the Codex is LIVE!!!
That’s right —The Prophecy of the Codex, the second book in the Codex series, is live TODAY!
You can order the ebook here or grab the paperback!
So to celebrate, I thought I’d show you some beautiful inspiration pics and give you the synopsis in images and captions. I even included some snippets from the book! Always feel free to refer back here while you’re reading the book to really immerse yourself in the story.
Enjoy!
A Book Excerpt to Celebrate Two Weeks Until Launch!
That’s right! We’re only two weeks away from the launch of The Prophecy of the Codex, book 2 in the Codex series.
So to celebrate, I thought I’d give you a really fun excerpt. It’s a bit lengthy, but it’s about Holun (who you met in book 1, The Secret of the Codex) and Yatzil (who we meet in book 2). And it’s SO FUN. I love these two so much.
Enjoy!
The Preorder is LIVE 🎉 — Plus a Book Excerpt from The Prophecy of the Codex!
Happy Tuesday!
We’re only THREE WEEKS AWAY (😱) from the release of The Prophecy of the Codex (10/27/20), so to celebrate, I thought I’d do two things.
First, I put the preorder for the ebook up for sale! (If you want the paperback, I’ll have news on that when it’s live! Paperbacks don’t have the preorder option 😭) You can grab your copy below — I’ve already seen the interior of the book, and it’s so beautiful, y’all.
Cover Reveal, Release Date, Book Blurb, Interior Formatting Preview, and Book Excerpt for The Prophecy of the Codex!
It’s time for a TON of book release goodies! Ready??
Book Cover
A few days ago, I sent out an email with my cover reveal, book blurb, and release date announcement for my upcoming book, The Prophecy of the Codex. But I realized I hadn’t put it here, so here goes!
Book Excerpt from The Prophecy of the Codex
Today I thought I’d do something I haven’t done here in a while: Share a book excerpt! It’s been too long.
And since I’m starting the edits for The Prophecy of the Codex really soon (c’mon Melissa!), I thought I’d share a scene from that book! (I’m planning for a release later this year. 😱)
First, here’s an inspo pic to help you try to picture the *unedited* scene, which is near the beginning of the book.
Also, while you’re reading this scene, play this song. You’ll thank me later.
I Quit My Job Today
I quit my job today.
Today’s not the day I drafted up a letter, asked to meet with my boss, and handed in my resignation. I did that weeks ago. No, today’s the day I’m done.
My last day at my day job.
As I write this way too early in the morning, since it’s becoming apparent that on the days of my big life events I can’t seem to stay asleep, I’m filled with a mix of emotions. I have a knot in my stomach, but kind of in a good way, you know? My body is thrumming, buzzing, my nervous system keyed up for what I know is coming today. And yes, there will probably be tears.
I’m nervous, excited, anxious, happy, nostalgic, ready, TERRIFIED.
What if I fail? What if I succeed? What if I can’t make the entrepreneur life work? What if I’m not cut out for this?
