So to celebrate, I thought I’d show you some beautiful inspiration pics and give you the synopsis in images and captions. I even included some snippets from the book! Always feel free to refer back here while you’re reading the book to really immerse yourself in the story.

The Prophecy of the Codex in Pictures
The book starts out in a museum. This is where all the craziness starts, and it’s what brings Kayla and Grady into the story. Which is SUPER FUN. (And also, superpowers. Need I say more?)
But also, before Kayla and Grady get to the museum, they’re back at the university teaching, having lunch, going about their normal lives…
Then someone gets kidnapped and is held underground, and the excerpt below is what happens to the person looking for them. And that person gets kidnapped, too. (Turns out, kidnapping is sort of a thing in my books. 🤣)
Something terrible happens just before the kidnap victims are released…

…and it sets the story on a trajectory that the Four can’t come back from. You know, Kayla, Grady, Mandy, and Justin.
So the Four and Holun head to Belize, where they meet up with Na-um. This is a snippet of one of the first conversations between Na-um and Kayla, and the tension between them gets ramped up like crazy. I love how snarky Kayla is here. 😄
Meanwhile, Shani is meeting up with the Elders and discovering secrets the Elders have kept hidden for a very long time…
And a whole lot of craziness ensues. Including some superpowers…
…and another kidnapping, but one that works out pretty well for Holun in a way…
…and things get even more crazy. Betrayal, heartbreak, new love, and a huge battle — trust me, it gets CRAZY. But it turns out really well, I promise. 😊
