Thanksgiving Excerpt (The Prophecy of the Codex)
Did you know that The Prophecy of the Codex takes place over Thanksgiving?

The Prophecy of the Codex Book Excerpt
Kayla and the rest of the Four, along with Na-um and Holun, met an hour later in the mess tent, early enough that the lunch crowd hadn’t shown up yet. Though there wouldn’t be much of a “crowd” anyway—staffing for the dig was light this late in the fall semester. Most had already gone home for Thanksgiving, which was only a few days away.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Happy Thanksgiving!
Today is the day — in the U.S., anyway — we remember to give thanks. We have a lot of yummy food (my husband and I are cooking all our favorites for the two of us — can we say leftovers?) and remember all the things we have to be thankful for.
At least, that's what it should be.
When You Don’t Feel Thankful for Thanksgiving
Today marks Thanksgiving Day in the US. It’s a time for family to gather, celebrate traditions, and eat a lot of yummy food. It’s a time that most enjoy.
But what if you don’t?
What if you’re dreading difficult conversations? What if being around your family is less than peaceful? What if the holidays are the farthest thing from love, joy, and peace and instead bring anxiety, guilt, and that horrible feeling in the pit of your stomach?
